My Story

My name is Christiana and I’m a bit of a sassy pants, at least my boyfriend thinks so. I love good food, gardening, hiking, crafts, art, and fancy pants dinner parties with good friends. Oh, and puppies. I LOVE puppies.

This blog was created for a number of reasons. First of all, I tried blogging in the past, but never really kept up with it. I’m admittedly the world’s worst blogger. I have a tendency to get excited about new ideas, but end up dropping the ball and never seeing them to fruition. I guess you can say it’s one of the side effects to being a creative person. A million great ideas, but without discipline, they never see the light of day.

I LOVE good food. I’m a self taught cook and am confident in my abilities to produce something delicious. I love feeding people. It’s one of the ways I like to show love for others. Lately, a lot of people have been asking me for recipes and advice on meal planning, so that’s one major component in my decision to try the blog thing again, but the REAL reason can be found in a challenge from my boyfriend.

We’ve recently started watching Master Chef and we love it. I find a lot of inspiration and motivation seeing what these home cooks come up with. It makes me want to be a better cook and branch out from what I know. It inspires me to experiment with new methods and flavors and I love that! As a result of our newly found obsession with Master Chef, my boyfriend challenged me to audition for the show. He thinks that I could WIN if I were to try. I’m not so confident at this point, but I think if I learned more about cooking and made a genuine effort to grow and expand my knowledge base, I COULD be at the level I need to in order to audition for the show. This all sounds so crazy, and I don’t know if I’ll actually ever audition, but it motivates me to start blogging about the dishes I create and what I learn along the way. I’m giving myself one year to learn all I can and if at the end of the year I feel confident enough, I will audition for the show. (assuming it’s still on air)

So there you have it. The story of how this blog came to be. Yes, I love cooking, and I love sharing my knowledge with others, but my competitive spirit wins over and this blog is created with the goal of auditioning for a television show and learning enough to get me there. Even if that never happens, I look forward to the journey before me of learning all I can and becoming a better cook.

  1. Hi Christina, it is Aunt Dot. I think what you are doing is a wonderful idea. I loved to cook before I got disabled. I think you can do anything you put your mind too. So good look with your cooking skills. LOve you
